Our home is a large, old detached house on the edge of a village in the county of Northumberland in northern England. We are very close to the lovely market town of Hexham and 40 kilometres from the city of Newcastle upon Tyne.
Our house is on two floors. There are 4 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Downstairs are the living room, dining room, large kitchen and the utility room. There is also a toilet and a porch. The house measures 140 square metres.
The house has all modern facilities, even though it was originally built in about 1850.
We have two gardens, one out to the front and one to the side, through a gate where there are several fruit trees.
We also have a garage which we use to store bicycles and a canoe.
We have a private driveway for parking two cars.
Within our village is a small shop that also has petrol pumps. There is a pub within ½ kilometre that serves good food.
There is a short walk of 400 metres to the banks of the South Tyne River.
There is a regular bus service into Hexham and Newcastle nearby.
