I
thought you might be interested in this amazing piece of coincidence
that happened to us when we went to see “The Holiday” ...
We
completed our second home exchange in Sussex, England last year in
January. We were lucky enough to briefly meet our exchangers before we
left, and then caught up with them before they went home as they were
able to have a longer holiday than us. Our exchange was fantastic and
the hospitality of our hosts was wonderful - having a meal ready for us
on arrival, a file of extensive information about the area for us to
look through, maps as well as coats and gloves for the English winter
if we got extra cold. We occasionally remained in contact over the rest
of the year, and our exchangers loved Perth so much they were able to
secure another exchange this January (2008) with another family ……. But
imagine our surprise when we turned up to our local cinema to see the
new film, “The Holiday”, and who should be there but our exchangers! So
here we were, in our home town, seeing a movie about home exchange and
bump into our exchangers all the way from England at the same session
time.
See!
As in the movies – amazing coincidences do happen.
We caught up for a drink after the movie, and are now going to be
spending Australia Day with them before they head home again.
Home
exchange offers amazing opportunities not only to have a wonderful
holiday, but to make friendships with lovely people you would never
cross paths with otherwise. We love home exchange, and are in the
process of finalising our next trip, this time to Norway in 2008.
Happy
exchanging.
Bruce and Salyna
