My Home is divided into two flats. I live in the top half with 2 of my daughters.
It is a renovated villa built in 1921. We are five minutes walk from the main boutique shopping area in Auckland called Ponsonby. Grey Lynn, where we are, is a funky part of Auckland city and was gentrified (and continues to be) over the last 10-15 years. Murdoch Road is a quiet street that is central to all amenities and transport hubs. I am still in the process of renewing my property though the inside of the house is very comfortable. I have been working on the garden over the current few months and will eventually paint the whole place again. Myself and my children are very tidy (when i bug them about it enough) I have a cat: Maggie and she is a Persian Black long haired beauty. Friendly and very cute. She would need looking after while here but is simply a plate of food in the mornings and some water... no fuss and needs plenty of strokes.
The rooms all have doubles or kings except for my youngest daughters, she has a pull out mattress underneath her King Single. Open plan living dining area looks out to wonderful urban treed views, villas, birds and elevation. The house is in Grey Lynn. It is a renovated villa built in 1921. The inner city suburbs are characterised by the villa house and Grey Lynn / Ponsonby have wonderful examples of the old architecture with the new. They are extremely popular areas to live and work from. Grey Lynn is known for its creative industries workers: film, theatre and performance, and People round about are friendly and largely professional. I am close to supermarkets and boutique shopping areas. Easy access to the city through buses that run every 10 minutes means anything going on in theatre, film, action, events and performances are easy to get too and from. Eden park is visible from my back windows- this is the site of the great Rugby World Cup where New Zealand beat the world again!!
The best restaurants, shopping and people watching is a hand span away. We look out to urban views and are within easy walking distance of numerous parks and only a 20 minute walk or bus ride to the city centre.

Auckland City is a Marine playground with beautiful islands in the gulf a pleasant ferry ride away. Vineyards that produce some of New Zealand's best boutique wines are within easy access. Yachting, water-skiing, snorkelling, kayaking, boating of all forms, tramping in the local hills is all easy to do and very pleasant. The West Coast a 30 min drive away is home to some incredibly beautiful beaches and surf. Gannet colonies, historical trails for walking and scenery, B & B's for pleasant overnight stays and gorgeous Native Bush is another easy vacation activity.
